Child Safety Standards

hey vidi! is a place-and-time witness app: people capture photos and videos pinned to where and when they happened, and explore them on a shared map. Because anyone can post, we take responsibility for what appears on the service.

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) has no place on hey vidi! This page describes our standards against it, how people report it, and how we respond. It applies to the hey vidi! website (heyvidi.com) and the iOS and Android apps.

What is prohibited

The following are banned outright and are grounds for immediate account termination:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any sexualised depiction of a minor, real or generated.
• Sexualising, grooming, soliciting, extorting, or sexually harassing a minor, including through comments, messages, or tagging.
• Trafficking, endangering, or facilitating harm to a minor.
• Sharing content that identifies or locates a minor for the purpose of contacting or endangering them.

Minimum age

hey vidi! is not intended for children. You must be at least 13 to create an account, and older where local law sets a higher minimum. Accounts we determine to belong to someone under the minimum age are removed.

Reporting

Every post and every comment can be reported from inside the app, on iOS, Android, and the web. "Child sexual abuse or exploitation" is the first option in the report menu, so it is never buried behind a general category.

Reports of child safety concerns are never filtered by the reporter's standing on the service, and are exempt from the ordinary daily reporting limit — every one reaches a moderator. A far higher ceiling still applies, solely so that no single account can bury genuine reports under automated noise. You can also block any account directly from a post, comment, or profile.

You do not need an account to raise a concern. Anyone can email team@heyvidi.com, which is monitored for child safety reports.

How we respond

• Reported content is queued for human review. Child safety reports are prioritised ahead of other categories.
• Content found to violate these standards is removed from public view.
• Accounts responsible are banned. A ban immediately ends the account's active sessions and hides its content.
• If we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material on hey vidi!, we will preserve the relevant material, report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, and cooperate with law enforcement as required by applicable law.
