Privacy Policy

hey vidi! is a place-and-time witness app: people capture photos and videos pinned to where and when they happened, and explore them on a shared map. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the hey vidi! website (heyvidi.com) and the iOS and Android apps.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and an authentication identifier from that provider. We never see your password.
• Content you capture. Photos and videos you record or upload, together with the location (GPS coordinates) and time of capture. Location is collected only when you record or upload — not continuously in the background.
• Activity. Up-votes, comments, flags, follows, watch-later saves, and watch history associated with your account.
• Direct messages. Messages you send to other users are stored so they can be delivered and displayed. They are private between participants and are not published.
• Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, device/browser type, timestamps) used to operate and secure the service.

What is public

Photos and videos you post — including their capture location, capture time, and your display name — are public. They appear on the map and in the gallery for anyone to see. Do not post content from locations you want to keep private (such as your home). Up-votes, comments, and follows are visible to other users. Direct messages, your email address, and your watch history are not public.

How we use information

• To operate the service: display recordings on the map, deliver messages, and maintain your profile.
• To rank and surface content through community up-votes and credibility.
• To moderate: review flagged content and act against abuse.
• To secure and debug the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that host our infrastructure and storage (acting on our instructions), when required by law, or as part of public content you chose to post.

Retention and deletion

Content stays up until you delete it or it is removed by moderation. You can delete individual recordings from the app. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below and we will process the request within 30 days.

Children

hey vidi! is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
